Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Psychiatric RN for a travel assignment in Hickory, NC. You will provide specialized psychiatric nursing care on a 13-week contract, working 36 hours per week in night shifts.

The role requires an active RN license, a degree from an accredited nursing program, BLS certification, and at least 18 months of acute care psychiatric experience. Other facility-specific requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Eighteen months of acute care psychiatric experience.
• Additional client-specific requirements will be determined by facility.

Responsibilities

• Assess the mental health status of patients with behavioral challenges.
• Collaborate with medical providers and mental health staff in care design and delivery.
• Administer and monitor psychotropic medications and their side effects.
• Assist patients and families to interpret and manage behaviors and plan healthy lifestyle changes.
• Exercise balanced judgement in evaluating situations and handling difficult or confrontational cases.
