Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Psychiatric travel nurse RN for a travel nursing assignment in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The position runs for 13 weeks, with 48 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

Immediate opening requiring 1-2 years of psychiatric nursing experience and BLS certification. The RN will provide professional care in Behavioral Health and Recovery Services under supervision and collaborate with clinical staff.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent psychiatric nursing experience.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through patient and family interviews to gather case history and health data.
• Observe and report behavioral changes; assist patients in understanding emotional disturbances and treatment needs.
• Document all patient information on medical charts and follow physician orders with confidentiality.
• Plan nursing care by assessing medical and emotional status and recommending treatment options.
• Consult with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans.
• Administer and monitor psychotropic drugs and coordinate further medical attention as needed.
• Maintain a safe environment and monitor pain, vitals, and treatment efficacy.
• Maintain accurate records of treatments, immunizations and labs; perform admin tasks as needed.
