American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/PCU night shift travel assignment in St. Louis, MO. This 13-week engagement offers 36 hours per week across 12-hour nights in a Level I trauma center, with competitive pay and stipends.

Candidates must hold a MO or compact RN license, ACLS and BCLS, and have 2+ years of PCU/Stepdown experience. EPIC charting proficiency and willingness to float as needed are preferred.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/PCU night shift position requiring a MO or compact RN license, ACLS and BCLS, in a Level I Trauma Center.

Responsibilities

• Work in a dual PCU/Stepdown unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratios are 2-3 on PCU side and 4-5 on the floor side
• All RNs may work on both PCU and floor sides as needed
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses EPIC EMR; experience required for some assignments
• Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I Trauma center
• RNs will interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac drips, and care for patients with chest tubes
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Employee parking information will be provided during orientation; night shift parking is free
• Completion of required modules during pre-start/orientation is compensated
• Not eligible for local travel rates if living within 75 miles
• Assignments may be extended beyond 13 weeks based on preference and facility need

• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract; none in first week of orientation
• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
