Job Summary

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a pediatric specialty hospital. This role involves providing specialized critical care to neonatal and pediatric patients in a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. The position requires adaptable staffing for nights and offers the opportunity to float between units to support patient care needs.

Job Details

Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• Valid state license (compact license accepted)
• minimum of 1 year experience in pediatric or ICU settings
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience required
• and proficiency with charting system (Epic)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with intubation management
• ventilator use
• central line care
• hemodynamic monitoring
• interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
• familiarity with PICU protocols

Additional Information

• Candidates should be comfortable with assisting and managing critical procedures such as intubation, BiPAP/CPAP, ICP monitoring, and ventilator management.
• This role involves working with neonatal and pediatric patients, including post-cardiac surgery care and ventilated patient management.
• Successful candidates must be willing to work 3 of the 5 designated holidays and may be required to float between nearby facilities.
• Prior experience with pediatric critical care units is essential.
