TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Physical Therapist for an 8-week assignment in Covington, Louisiana. The PT will work 40 hours per week on days, with 8-hour shifts in an acute care setting and must have licensure and BLS.

Candidates should have 1 year of PT experience (6 months for exceptional candidates) and be able to supervise PTAs, bill appropriately, and coordinate with Medical Center staff to deliver a team-focused plan of care.

Qualifications

• 1 year of PT experience, or 6 months for exceptional candidates.
• BLS certification and state-specific licensure.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; good knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Familiarity with acute care settings and plan of care development.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop a care plan for diverse populations.
• Supervise PTAs and therapy support staff.
• Bill for services following facility guidelines.
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to coordinate care.
• Understand and utilize adaptive equipment.
• Evaluate and update the care plan as patient condition changes.

We are looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) for an immediate travel opening in Covington, LA. The right PT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As a PT, you will be responsible for the evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

• Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)
• Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility
• Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate and create a plan of care
• Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient's condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.

Physical Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. PTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
