Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center. The role requires 1+ year of PT experience, an active PT license if applicable, and BLS certification. IRF unit work is required, with a strong emphasis on critical thinking and clinical reasoning.

Responsibilities include evaluations, treatments, discharges, and family training, with up to 4 patients on IRF and 8–12 in acute care. Travel housing allowances and per diem are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapy experience.
• Active PT license if applicable.
• Active BLS certification required.
• Willingness to work on the IRF unit.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills.
• Hospital or IRF experience preferred.
• Stroke or neuro experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• 13-week travel assignment in the Physical Therapy department at a Level II Trauma Center.
• Facility has 383-bed acute care hospital and 28-bed IRF.
• Day shift 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; no night shifts.
• Patient load: 4 IRF patients/day; 8–12 acute care patients/day.
• Collaborate with therapy staff across the facility.
• Use adaptive devices and equipment; participate in team conferences and family training.
