Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a Travel Physical Therapist for an immediate opening in Ashland, KY. The assignment runs 13 weeks with 36 hours per week, typically 9 hours per day.

The PT is responsible for evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care across diverse patient populations in the acute care setting, while supervising PTAs and coordinating with medical staff. BLS and state licensing are required, with possible 6 months of experience for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; new grads may apply.
• BLS and state-specific licensing required.
• PT should be able to stand/walk for long periods and have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervising PTAs and support staff.
• Bill within the setting following guidelines.
• Interface with Medical Center personnel to ensure team-based care.
• Evaluate and create a plan of care; modify as needed.
• Use hospital computer systems for daily tasks and documentation.

The right PT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.As a PT, you will be responsible for the evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

• Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)
• Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility
• Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate and create a plan of care
• Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient's condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

RequirementsMust have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.Physical Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. PTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
