Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Travel Physical Therapist for a Long Term Care unit. The assignment is 13 weeks, on day shifts, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with focus on evaluation, treatment planning, and wound care as needed.

Candidates must have at least 1 year PT experience, LTC experience, MO license, and a reference. Travel benefits include competitive pay and housing stipend; new grads considered with Level II experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of PT experience required.
• LTC or Rehab setting experience required.
• New graduates considered if Level II clinical experience was completed (Level I observation alone not accepted).
• MO state PT license required, if applicable.
• 1 professional reference required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care needs.
• Develop and adjust plans of care using standardized assessments and evidence-based practice.
• Administer manual techniques, ambulation training, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and wound care as needed.
• Assess patient progress, document outcomes, and modify treatment plans accordingly.
• Provide consultation to patients, families, and caregivers regarding physical disorders.
• Communicate with supervisors and healthcare team members on patient progress and treatment plans.
• Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate treatment documentation.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and required trainings.
• Supervise physical therapist assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students as needed.
• Adhere to APTA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards.
• Up to 5 days of requested time off may be accommodated.
