Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a traveling Physical Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Pittsburg, Kansas. The PT will evaluate, develop, and execute plans of care for diverse patient populations in an acute care setting.

Candidate should have at least 6 months of experience (1 year preferred); new grads may be considered with appropriate background. BLS and state licensing are required, with ABPTS or other certifications potentially required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop a plan of care for various patient populations in acute care.
• Oversee supervising PTAs and therapy staff; coordinate with medical center personnel and physicians.
• Bill for services in the respective setting and adhere to facility guidelines.
• Understand and apply state board rules and regulations; ensure compliance.
• Assess and utilize adaptive equipment; create and modify plans of care as patient conditions change.
• Document timely and accurately following state and/or payer guidelines; use hospital computer systems.

We are looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) for an immediate travel opening in Pittsburg, KS. The right PT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

As a PT, you will be responsible for the evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

As a PT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)
• Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility
• Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate and create a plan of care
• Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient's condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.

Physical Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. PTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
