Job summary

TNAA TotalMed Allied is seeking a Travel Physical Therapist for a 15-week assignment in Salinas, California. The PT will work 40 hours per week with an 8-hour rotating shift in an acute care setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months of PT experience (1 year preferred) and holds a California PT license with BLS. Responsibilities include evaluating plans of care, supervising staff, documenting and coordinating with medical teams.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of PT experience; 1 year preferred.
• BLS certification and active state license (California) required.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods; good anatomy, physiology and medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience in acute care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervising PTAs and therapy staff.

• Comply with the PT board rules and California regulations.
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure a team-based plan of care.
• Understand and adapt equipment used for patient care.

We are looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) for an immediate travel opening in Salinas, CA. The right PT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

As a PT, you will be responsible for the evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

As a PT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)
• Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility
• Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate and create a plan of care
• Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient's condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.

Physical Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. PTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
