Job summary

TotalMed Allied in Fairfield, CA is seeking a traveling Physical Therapist to evaluate and manage care for diverse patient populations in an acute care setting. This PT will coordinate with the medical team to develop and execute individualized plans of care, while meeting facility and payer guidelines.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of PT experience (6 months acceptable for exceptional candidates), BLS, and an active state license, with the ability to stand and move throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have BLS certification and active state license.
• 1 year PT experience required; less may be considered for exceptional candidates.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods; comfortable with bending and stooping.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee PTAs and therapy staff in daily operations.
• Bill for services following facility guidelines and payer rules.
• Interface with physicians and hospital staff on plan of care.
• Develop and modify plan of care based on patient progress.
• Use hospital systems for documentation and charting.
• Ensure timely, accurate documentation per state and insurer requirements.

We are looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) for an immediate travel opening in Fairfield, CA. The right PT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

As a PT, you will be responsible for the evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

• Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)


• Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility


• Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state


• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care


• Understand adaptive equipment


• Evaluate and create a plan of care


• Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient's condition


• Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks


• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.


• Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.


• Physical Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.


• PTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
