Location: Facility in Santa Fe, New Mexico
Travel Physical Therapist (PT) | Company: Fusion Medical Staffing | Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: 04/13/2026 | Hours: 40 hours per week | Shift: 8 hours, days | Employment Type: Travel
- The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life.
- Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals.
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques to improve patient mobility and reduce pain.
- Operate specialized physical therapy equipment and modalities safely and effectively, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of devices.
- Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
- Work with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self-management strategies.
- Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Engage in quality assurance and professional development to stay current with best practices.
- Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions in community or home-based settings.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in physical therapy
- Physical Therapy experience; new grads are welcome to apply
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; proficient with PC skills
- Physical Abilities: ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, bend
- Interpersonal Skills: ability to work with a variety of personnel professionally
- Technical/Motor Skills: ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures
- Mental Requirements: ability to cope with frequent contact with the public, meet deadlines, work under supervision or independently as needed
- Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
