Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Norfolk, Virginia. The PT will deliver evaluation, treatment planning, and execution for diverse patient populations in an acute care setting, with 40 hours per week and 10-hour days.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of PT experience (6 months may be accepted for exceptional backgrounds), BLS, and state licensure. Responsibilities include team coordination, documentation, and care plan modification as patient needs

Qualifications

• 1 year of PT experience preferred; 6 months may be considered for exceptional candidates.
• Active BLS and valid state licensure required.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform matter-of-fact assessments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervising PTAs and therapy staff in the clinic setting.
• Bill within the setting following facility guidelines.
• Coordinate with Medical Center personnel to align plan of care.
• Understand adaptive equipment and implement as needed.
• Evaluate and create a plan of care; modify as patient condition evolves.
• Use Medical Center computer systems for daily tasks.
• Provide timely, accurate documentation per state/insurer guidelines.

We are looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) for an immediate travel opening in Norfolk, VA. The right PT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

As a PT, you will be responsible for the evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

As a PT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)
• Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility
• Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate and create a plan of care
• Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient’s condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.

Physical Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. PTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
