Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks a travel Physical Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Iowa City, IA. The right PT should have 1 year of experience; 6 months may be accepted for exceptional candidates. This role requires 40 hours per week and a days shift, with travel benefits and licensure in good standing.

You will supervise PTAs and staff, bill per setting guidelines, and ensure a team-based plan of care with Physicians. Knowledge of anatomy and documentation is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of PT experience; new grads may apply.
• BLS and state licensing are required.
• Ability to stand/walk long periods; knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.
• 13-week travel assignment with 40 hours/week.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervising PTAs and support staff.
• Bill within the setting following guidelines.
• Follow state PT board rules and regulations.
• Interface with Medical Center staff and physicians to ensure a team-based plan of care.
• Understand adaptive equipment.
• Evaluate and create a plan of care.
• Modify plan of care as patient condition changes.
• Use Medical Center computer systems for daily tasks.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurer guidelines.

Tasks

As a PT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)
• Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility
• Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate and create a plan of care
• Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient's condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.

Physical Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. PTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
