Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Physical Therapist for a travel assignment in Algona, IA. The PT will evaluate, plan, and manage care in an acute setting while coordinating with a medical team.

Candidates should have 1 year of experience (6 months may be accepted for exceptional cases) and hold active BLS and state licensing. Position includes 40-hour weeks and a travel-friendly schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.
• PT should be able to stand and walk for long periods and possess solid anatomy and physiology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and create a plan of care for diverse patient populations in the acute care setting.
• Oversee supervising PTAs and therapy staff.
• Bill within the respective setting following facility guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with state PT board rules and regulations.
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to coordinate plan of care.
• Understand adaptive equipment and its use in therapy.
• Perform and adjust plans of care based on patient condition.
• Document timely and accurately following state and insurance guidelines.

We are looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) for an immediate travel opening in Algona, IA. The right PT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As a PT, you will be responsible for the evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

As a PT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)
• Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility
• Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate and create a plan of care
• Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient's condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.

Physical Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. PTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
