Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Topeka, Kansas. The position offers 40 hours per week with 8-hour day shifts in an acute care setting.

The PT will evaluate and execute a plan of care, supervise PTAs, and collaborate with Medical Center staff. Must have BLS and a state PT license; 1 year of experience preferred (6 months may be considered for exceptional candidates).

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of PT experience; exceptional candidates with 6 months may be considered.
• BLS certification required and active state-specific PT license.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods; knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Experience in acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervising PTAs and therapy staff.
• Bill within the respective setting following facility guidelines.
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to coordinate plan of care.
• Evaluate and create a plan of care; modify as indicated based on patient condition.
• Use Medical Center computer systems for daily tasks.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation per guidelines.

We are looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) for an immediate travel opening in Topeka, KS. The right PT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

As a PT, you will be responsible for the evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

• Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)
• Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility
• Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate and create a plan of care
• Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient's condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.

Physical Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. PTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
