Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an 8-week inpatient acute care assignment requiring 1+ years of experience and BLS certification.

• Inpatient Acute care setting within the PT department, with potential coverage of acute rehab
• Covers Med Surg, Tele, ICU, and Community Hospital areas
• Treats 10-12 patients per day
• Patient population includes post-op, ortho/total joint, stroke, cardiovascular, and deconditioning cases
• PTAs cover both acute and rehab coverage
• EPIC used for charting
• Schedule is Monday-Friday 0800-1730, with Tuesday-Saturday preferred; potential for 4x10 schedule
• One weekend per month required, with 2 weekends total over the 8-week contract
• Holiday coverage not required but may be requested

Requirements

• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• Active UT state license required
• Previous acute care experience highly preferred
• Experience in an inpatient rehab setting is a plus
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Main responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of patients across acute inpatient and potential acute rehab settings
• Onsite orientation at two facilities, likely one day each unless additional time is needed
• Tan scrub color required for dress code
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Candidates must be in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
