6 Degrees Search in Merrillville, IN seeks a contract Phlebotomist. The role includes performing blood draws, labeling specimens, and maintaining accurate records across multiple sites in Northwest Indiana.

This position offers mileage reimbursement, requires a valid phlebotomy certification, and a clean driving record with reliable transportation. Schedule is 7am–8pm, Monday to Friday, with potential for perm based on performance.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
