Job summary

NurseStar Medical Partners is seeking a licensed pharmacist for a 3-month to 1-year assignment in a pharmacy setting. The role involves reviewing medication orders, verifying prescriptions, counseling patients, and collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure safe, effective care.

The position requires 1–3 years of clinical pharmacy experience, a PharmD or B.Pharm, BLS, and immunization certification. Travel is all-inclusive, with a 8-hour day schedule over weekdays.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of clinical pharmacy experience in ambulatory or inpatient care.
• Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited program.
• Completion of a PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts to ensure medication orders align with notes, lab results, vitals, and allergies.
• Process, fill, and verify prescription orders for accuracy.
• Provide patient counseling and education on medication therapy.
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff and healthcare providers for safe pharmaceutical care.
• Respond to provider inquiries and interventions for drug selection, dosing, and administration.
• Identify and manage adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
• Handle phone communications, refill requests, and input external prescriptions.
• Perform controlled substance audits and assist with inventory management.
• Prepare IV admixtures and support inpatient drug distribution.
• Administer immunizations (with required certification).
• Participate in training, safety programs, and competency assessments.
