Job summary

Med Ninjas in Morristown, NJ seeks a licensed Pharmacist for a 13-week travel assignment starting ASAP. The role requires 37 hours per week, with 10-hour night shifts.

You will transcribe orders, dispense medications, verify doses and IVs, supervise technicians, and participate in clinical initiatives and drug information.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Active New Jersey pharmacist license.
• Preferred: 2+ years hospital pharmacy experience; oncology/infusion experience.

Responsibilities

• Review patient profiles and medication orders for appropriate therapy based on specific patient information; ensure accuracy and timeliness in transcribing and verifying medication orders.
• Accurately and promptly dispense medications and prescriptions; process requests via multiple modes (phone, window, fax, computer); ensure paperwork and labeling are completed and signed.
• Verify unit dose, automated dispensing machine fills, IVs, repackaged and extemporaneous preparations, crash carts, and emergency kits for accuracy; correct patient profiles as needed.
• Oversee and prepare aseptic compounding of IV medications, including hazardous drugs; maintain sterile technique and documentation; manage supplies efficiently.
• Participate in clinical initiatives, make appropriate clinical interventions and therapy recommendations; monitor patient therapies and promote formulary compliance.
• Provide accurate and timely drug information to healthcare providers, patients, and families; utilize and interpret drug information resources.
• Respond to inquiries professionally; participate in performance improvement and cost-saving initiatives; support departmental goals and supervise pharmacy technicians as needed.
• Complete competency training; participate in the education and training of pharmacy staff, students, and residents; maintain professional development and encourage professional organization membership.
