American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist for a travel assignment in Columbia, Missouri. The role is in a PICU with day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), 36 hours per week, and a 13-week contract with travel benefits.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of pediatric ICU experience, holds an RRT license (MO or Compact), and active ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications. Cerner experience and willingness to float are preferred. On-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of pediatric ICU RT experience.
• RRT license required, pending license acceptable; CRT not accepted.
• MO or Compact license required in hand.
• Active certifications ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS.
• Cerner charting experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital and Level I trauma experience preferred.
• Ability to ambulate and lift 20+ lbs.
• On-call and rotating shifts.

Responsabilités

• Provide respiratory care to critically ill pediatric patients including ventilator and airway management.
• Work in a 24/7 facility with rotating shifts, holidays.
• Serve as a Patient Observer when required.
• Collaborate with PICU team in a teaching hospital.
• Complete charting in Cerner and documentation.

Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a day shift role in a pediatric ICU setting.

Details

• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting within a teaching hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required
• 36 or 48 hour contract options available
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Mandatory floating required, including serving as a Patient Observer (sitter) across the organization
• On-call availability required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• RRT license required, pending license acceptable, CRT not accepted
• MO or Compact license required in hand
• Active certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience required
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
• Comfortable working in an environment with routine exposure to contagious illnesses
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to critically ill pediatric patients including ventilator management, airway management, and medication administration
• Work in a 24/7 healthcare facility requiring rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and work during inclement weather
• Minimum 50% holiday coverage required during the contract
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and those 51-74 miles may be offered a local rate
• Local candidates are not eligible for contract extensions beyond the initial term
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, with no time off permitted during the first week due to orientation
• Travelers may work up to three consecutive 13-week contracts before a mandatory 6-month break is required
