Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Pediatric Operating Room travel nurse in Waltham, MA for a 13-week assignment. The RN will work 40 hours per week, days, 8-hour shifts, in a Pediatric OR setting and provide care in accordance with hospital policies.

Required are BLS and PALS certifications with at least 2 years of acute care experience. The role involves patient movement, OR care, and ensuring proper pre-procedure paperwork, with exposure to typical OR hazards.

• 2 years of acute care nursing experience.
• Pediatrics OR - Operating Room specialty.

Responsibilities

• Assist with moving and positioning of patient.
• Manage care of patient in the OR according to hospital policy.

We're looking for Pediatric Operating Room RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Waltham, MA. The right RN will have at least 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.

As a Pediatric OR Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Assist with moving and positioning of patient.
• Manage care of patient in the OR according to hospital policy.
• Ensure all patient paperwork is completed prior to procedure.
• Watch for signs and symptoms of impaired gas exchange related to anesthesia.
• Remain by the patient's side until anesthesia has been successfully induced.

Pediatric OR Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. RNs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at a time. RNs may face hazards from exposure to certain chemicals or infectious diseases in the operating room environment.
