Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Travel nurse RN PCU for a travel assignment in Chapel Hill, NC. The PCU RN will provide 12-hour night coverage, 36 hours per week, and support patients who require close monitoring but not ICU level care.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of acute care experience, ACLS and BLS, and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment with critical thinking and teamwork in a travel setting. This role offers weekly pay, guaranteed hours, and benefits.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH certification may be required.
• 2 years of experience in acute care.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever monitoring indicates adverse symptoms.
