Job summary

Best Practice Medicine is seeking qualified Travel Paramedics for a 3-6 month assignment in a fast-paced 911 EMS environment. This role offers unmatched variety, ongoing clinical growth, and premium compensation with housing provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years experience as a Paramedic.
• National Registry Paramedic (NRP).
• EMS State License in MS or a Compact-state license.
• Current ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications.
• Current immunizations (MMR, Hep B, TDAP).
• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• NIMS IC 100, 200, 700, 800 certifications.
• HAZMAT Awareness certification.
• Preferred: 5+ years in a busy 911 system as a Paramedic.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Clinical Assessment & Triaging: evaluate scene safety and prioritize patient care.
• ALS intervention & care: airway management, cardiac monitoring, IV access, drug administration.
• Documentation & reporting: precise observations and timely handoffs to receiving clinicians.
• Equipment & narcotics maintenance: ensure vehicle readiness and secure medications.
• Travel adaptability: relocate and integrate quickly into new EMS teams.

What You Will Do:

Advanced Clinical Assessment & Triage: Evaluating the emergency scene for safety and applying high-level clinical decision‑making to diagnose and prioritize patient treatment.

ALS Intervention & Care: Performing advanced life support procedures, including advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug administration according to local protocols.

Documentation & Reporting: Recording precise clinical observations, treatments, and patient history, and clearly relaying this critical information to receiving doctors and nurses.

Equipment & Narcotics Maintenance: Inspecting the ambulance and medical equipment to ensure the vehicle is clean, sanitized, and fully stocked. Securing, tracking, and maintaining accountability of advanced medications and narcotics.

Travel Adaptability: Must possess the flexibility to relocate and the clinical agility to integrate instantly into new emergency response teams. A proactive attitude toward shifting schedules and diverse patient demographics is essential.

Core Responsibilities

Clinical Protocol Proficiency: Master and execute localized protocols immediately with minimal orientation, maintain precise and compliant clinical documentation, strictly adhere to national, state, and client agency scopes of practice, and ensure all position‑required certifications and licensures are continuously maintained.

Assignment Commitment: Complete the full assignment term with strict schedule compliance and zero operational interruptions; manage personal needs and extended time off strictly between assignments.

Resilient Field Flexibility: Maintain a highly adaptable, solution‑oriented approach when adjusting to shifting schedule demands, unfamiliar environments, and varying client agency dynamics with a constructive mindset.

Effective Leadership Communications: Follow complex operational directives from remote BPM leadership and client agency managers, providing for clear communication with limited to no close supervision.

Supportive Crew Liaison: Embody a team‑first traveler mindset by following directives, supporting existing client agency solutions, and delivering exceptional customer service, while partnering closely with shift partners and BPM leadership to ensure proper incident reporting and absolute assignment compliance.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience as a Paramedic
• National Registry: Paramedic (NRP)
• EMS State License - MS, or Compact
• American Heart Association: ACLS (AHA ACLS), PALS (AHA PALS), and BLS (AHA BLS)
• Current Immunizations (MMR, Hep B, TDAP)
• Negative TB test within the last 12 months
• NIMS IC 100, 200, 700, 800 (access the FREE coursework here)

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a busy 911 system as a Paramedic
• Average work tenure of three years
• EVOC/CEVO, within the last two years
• Previous traveller experience with Best Practice Medicine
