Job summary

Healthforce is seeking a Registered Nurse for a traveling PACU assignment in Hilo, HI. Start date 11/09/2026 for 13 weeks with weekly pay of $1,981–$2,095. Shifts rotate 8/10/12 hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays; no guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities include direct PACU care, vitals monitoring, medication administration, and patient transfers. Must hold Hawaii RN license and BLS/ACLS; PACU experience preferred; PALS recommended.

Qualifications

• Hawaii RN license active by start date.
• BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum 2+ years of critical care experience in a hospital setting; PACU experience preferred.
• PALS recommended or may be required for some assignments.
• Other specialty certifications (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC) preferred or may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for post-anesthesia patients in PACU, ensuring airway, breathing, circulation, and pain management needs are met.
• Monitor vitals, incisions, dressings, drains and detect early signs of instability or complications.
• Administer medications and fluids per orders; manage IV therapy and PACU interventions.
• Assess readiness for transfer to subsequent units and communicate changes to anesthesia and surgical teams.
• Utilize PACU equipment and document care accurately (Meditech, PCA/IV pumps, Pyxis, monitors).
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control; participate in handoffs and shift communications.
