Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel PACU RN for an 18-week assignment in Charlotte, North Carolina. You will provide specialized post-anesthesia care, assess recovery, and collaborate with the surgical team to support safe patient transitions.

Qualifications

• One year of recent PACU RN experience.
• Current RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• PALS or ENPC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and conduct comprehensive assessments of patients transferring from the operating room and assess their post-anesthesia condition.
• Monitor and evaluate patient’s vital signs, level of consciousness, and recovery from anesthesia.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved post-anesthesia nursing techniques.
• Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of recovering patients.
• Document patient conditions, treatments, and incidents; notify care team of changes.
• Respond to emergencies using PACU standards and protocols.
• Document assessments and recovery progress in medical records.
• Develop and deliver individualized patient/family education and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with surgical team and other providers for post-operative care.
• Participate in handoff communications to ensure continuity of care.
• Operate PACU equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps.
