Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse Level I Trauma Center Days The organization is seeking a highly skilled PACU nurse to join their acute care team. The role involves caring for post-operative patients recovering from various surgeries, including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, and vascular procedures. Critical care experience is required due to the acuity of patients with artificial airways, invasive monitoring, transfusions, and vasoactive medications.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week, starting 10/26/2026 and ending 01/25/2027.
• Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in a Level I Trauma Center PACU, ACLS, BLS certifications, high acuity critical care experience, proficiency with Epic charting system, and skills including blood product administration, invasive monitoring (including ICP), and care of ventilated patients.
• Preferred Qualifications: CCRN and TNCC certifications preferred.
• Float: Float to PACU or Pre-Operative units within scope may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit operates 24/7 with 38 patient bays, handling a diverse adult, adolescent, and geriatric patient population. Night shift staff must be prepared to work the pre-op patients for first cases when necessary. The role demands experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia. The facility emphasizes high acuity postoperative care for surgical patients including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, and transplant cases, excluding open-heart surgeries or liver transplants.
