Job summary

Critical Connection, inc is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Seward, Alaska. The Hand Therapist will evaluate and treat the upper extremity, wrist, and shoulder in an outpatient setting, focusing on restoring function after surgery or injury, with a standard 40-hour workweek.

The ideal candidate holds an OT license (CHT preferred) and has 1–2 years of hand therapy or orthopedic experience, plus strong manual therapy, education duties, and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in the state of practice.
• Certification as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred.
• 1–2 years in hand therapy or outpatient orthopedic setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of upper extremity anatomy and rehab techniques.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat upper extremity conditions including post-surgical cases, fractures, tendon injuries, nerve injuries, and chronic conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and clinical findings
• Fabricate and fit custom orthoses/splints for various diagnoses
• Provide manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and modalities to improve function and reduce pain
• Educate patients on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and recovery expectations
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
