Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Orthopedics for a travel nursing job in Denver, Colorado. The assignment is 13 weeks long, requires 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts, and entails travel nursing responsibilities across MedSurg settings.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of recent acute care experience, BLS, and strong bedside assessment, documentation, and patient-family education skills. Staff will document care and participate in discharge planning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; additional certs may be required.
• Travel nursing assignment in orthopedics with 13 weeks duration.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of post-op and medical-surgical patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs as needed.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and post-discharge plans.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans.
