Job summary

Focus Staff is seeking a traveling Orthopedic RN to care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions in Urbana, IL. This 13-week contract assignment features a 3x12-hour shift pattern and travel-specific benefits.

Responsibilities include assisting doctors, monitoring vitals, wound care, pain management, and patient education to ensure safe recovery and mobility post-surgery. Candidates should have a BSN, RN license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• BSN from accredited nursing program and proper licensure.
• Excellent communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in providing care for musculoskeletal issues.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and track changes.
• Assist in wound care, dressings, and castings as needed.
• Manage post-surgical pain management and medication administration.
• Educate patients on home care and rehabilitation exercises.
• Support mobility and strength recovery after procedures.
