Job summary

Cross Country Nurses seeks a travel Surgical Technician for a 13-week assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. The role supports operating room procedures, maintains sterile fields, prepares supplies, and assists with patient transport and case readiness.

You will rotate 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with a start date of 12/07/2026. Requirements include OR experience or Surgical Technician training, BLS/CPR, and a team-focused, safety-conscious approach.

Qualifications

• Six months of operating room experience or completion of a Surgical Technician course.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor.
• CPR certification or BLS certification from an approved vendor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and verify supplies, equipment, instrumentation and sterile fields before procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and assist with instrument counts with RN.
• Pass instruments and medications and assist with patient transport and case readiness.
• Label solutions and maintain clean, organized operating room environment.
• Transports patients according to unit schedules and priorities.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned and comply with vaccination policies.
