Job summary

TotalMed RN in Florence, SC is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment, 40 hours per week. Shift is 8 hours/day, days, with travel employment.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience as a circulating and/or scrub nurse, and may include RN first assistant duties. Responsibilities include assisting the surgical team, pre/post-op care, instrument handling, patient education, and ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse.
• Possibly RN first assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education.
• Work as circulating or scrub nurse within operating room; assist with instruments and equipment.
• Ensure correct procedures are performed on the correct patient; monitor during surgery.
• Provide patient education on medications and home care needs.
