Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a 26-week assignment in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves 40 hours per week, day shifts, and joining a supportive clinical team.

You will perform perioperative patient care, prepare the operating room, and maintain sterile technique while collaborating with surgeons and staff to ensure safety and high-quality care. A valid RN license and current BLS are required; ACLS/PALS/CNOR are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure.
• Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintains a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adheres to infection control protocols and sterile technique.
• Monitors the patient's condition during surgery and communicates with the surgeon as needed.
