Job summary

Concentric Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Baltimore, Maryland. This position requires Maryland RN license, BLS, trauma training, and 2 years of OR experience. You will cover a busy OR with multiple specialties, respond to emergencies, and document care in Cerner/Surginet.

The role includes 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM shifts, every other weekend, on-call once weekly, and float within scope. Scrubs are provided on-site; travel staff welcome.

Qualifications

• Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission.
• BLS certification required.
• 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course required.
• 8 hours of annual trauma CEUs required.
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required; General OR and Level II trauma experience required.
• Local candidates are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Function as a member of the patient care team in a high-volume General Operating Room, supporting approximately 40 cases per day across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Provide safe, age-appropriate, evidence-based perioperative care utilizing advanced technology and minimally invasive techniques.
• Demonstrate proficiency across a broad range of surgical specialties including Trauma, ENT, Colorectal, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology, Urology, Ophthalmology, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Robotics, Vascular, and Thoracic procedures.
• Respond to emergency OR situations including fire safety, malignant hyperthermia, and latex allergy precautions.
• Operate electrosurgical units, fiber-optic equipment, and Steris equipment safely and effectively.
• Serve as a resource for patients and families while supporting interdisciplinary collaboration and surgical education; document care using Cerner/Surginet

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Teaching hospital experience preferred
