Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse (RN OR) for a 13-week assignment in Charleston, South Carolina. The role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant, with 12-hour daytime shifts and 36 hours weekly.

Responsibilities include assisting in the OR, providing pre- and post-surgery care and education, and coordinating with the surgical team. Must have BLS and travel-ready credentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse.
• BLS certification required.
• Travel RN with OR specialty; may include RN first assistant responsibilities.
• Ability to stand for long periods and manage 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery education and care.
• Serve as liaison between patients' families and the operating team.
• Monitor and document medications and patient responses during procedures.
• Support instrument handling and room setup as applicable for circulating/scrub roles.
