Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking an Operating Room RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. You will join a dedicated clinical team delivering perioperative care and maintaining patient safety throughout the surgical cycle.

Requirements include an active RN license in Wisconsin, at least one year OR experience, and current BLS certification. Preferred credentials include ACLS/PALS/ENPC or CNOR where applicable. Travel benefits apply.

Qualifications

• At least one year of recent OR experience.
• Valid RN license in Wisconsin.
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC).

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and ensure instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready for each surgical procedure.
• Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and ensuring comfort and safety during surgery.
• Maintain a sterile field, adhering to infection control and sterile technique protocols.
• Anticipate surgical team needs and provide instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain workflow.
• Monitor patient’s condition during surgery, document significant changes, and notify the surgeon.
• Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal.
• Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport per facility protocols.
• Document all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly.
• Participate in hand‑off communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, following infection control and turnover protocols.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow hospital safety rules, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.

Required Qualifications

• At least one year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications
• Or Nursing Certification (CNOR)
• Other certifications and licenses as may be required
