Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Denver, Colorado. The position runs for 13 weeks with 40 hours per week on day shifts, 10 hours per shift.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of acute care experience as a circulating or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant. Travel assignments involve perioperative patient care, instrument handling, and post-operative education.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, potentially RN first assistant.
• Experience in operating room nursing roles including circulating and scrub duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care during perioperative periods.
• Prepare, administer and document prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patient families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education on medications and home care.
• Assist in handling instruments and equipment; monitor patient during surgery.
• Support RN first assistant in surgical care and hemostasis.
