Job summary

TotalMed RN has a travel nursing opening for an Orthopedics RN in Amarillo, Texas. This 13-week assignment requires 48 hours per week and night shifts on a travel basis.

The RN should have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience with BLS and NIH certifications. Additional certifications may be required prior to starting the assignment. Pay includes a tax-free stipend with shifts based on 12 hours duration.

Qualifications

• BLS and NIH certifications required.
• 1 year of MedSurg RN experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
