Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment in a Level I trauma center. The role requires independence with complex surgical cases, including craniotomy, vascular, and endovascular procedures, with Epic charting experience.

Requirements include active CT or Compact RN license, BLS, 2–3 years OR experience, teaching hospital background, and trauma Level I expertise. On-call, rotating shifts, and travel duties in a large academic center are involved.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CT or Compact)
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of OR nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Must be independent with trauma cases, craniotomy, vascular, and endo-vascular procedures
• Circulating experience required, scrub experience highly preferred
• Experience with robotics and orthopedics strongly preferred
• Neurology and craniotomy skills required
• 1 professional reference required

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit in a Short Term Acute Care Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Rotating day/evening/night schedule with 2x12 and 2x8 shifts, inclusive of weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities
• On-call responsibilities required
• Uses Epic charting system
• General OR, Hybrid OR, and Trauma settings including gunshot/stab wound cases
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Perform circulating and scrub duties across general, hybrid, and trauma OR cases
• Work within a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center setting
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates with pending RN licenses will be considered
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
