Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room/Surgery position on a day shift schedule requiring NM or compact RN licensure and ACLS certification.

The role is a full-time, 13-week travel assignment with a 6:30 AM–3:00 PM shift, on-call weekends/nights, and potential cross-department staffing. Epic EMR is used, and housing allowances and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state RN license.
• BLS certification from AHA required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Performs various Point of Care testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room/Surgery department within a hospital setting.
• Day shift schedule, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts.
• Full time, 13-week assignment.
• Requires 1-2 24-hour weekend call shifts.
• On-call requirement of 1-2 call nights per week with charge duties as needed.
• Floating to other departments required as needed.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the population served.
• Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments, develops individualized care plans, and evaluates outcomes.
• Participates in patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Delegates and coordinates team assignments, following up for quality and completeness.
• Serves as a resource to physicians, staff, and visitors.
• Hospital-provided scrubs.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Returning CHRISTUS employees must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment.
