Job summary

Healthforce is seeking a Registered Nurse – Operating Room in Bakersfield, California for a 13-week travel assignment starting November 2, 2026. The role involves delivering perioperative care, monitoring patients, and coordinating with surgeons and anesthesiologists in a hospital operating room setting.

Requirements include an active California RN license and BLS, with OR perioperative experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (California) in good standing.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• OR nursing experience or strong perioperative nursing skills; ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgery according to standards of care and the nursing process.
• Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively; document findings and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at multiple levels; coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members.
• Maintain sterile technique, infection control, and patient safety throughout perioperative care.
• Prepare and manage OR equipment, instruments, and supplies; assist with patient positioning and surgical setup.
• Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to support optimal patient outcomes.
