Qualifications

Job Summary:
The ORT (Operating Room Technician) position is located at an unspecified healthcare facility. This role involves preparing the surgical environment, assisting with patient positioning, tissue manipulation, wound dressing application, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures. The technician will work as part of a surgical team to facilitate successful operations, including room preparation and equipment management.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, from 6:20 AM earliest start, with a contract duration from 09/21/2026 to 12/21/2026.
• Required Qualifications: High School Diploma plus two years of experience, GED plus two years of experience, Associates Degree, or Technical Degree. Must be BLS provider certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) prior to hire or job transfer date. RNFA candidates are acceptable.
• Preferred Qualifications: Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Additional Information: This role requires proficiency in closing total joints and/or bedside procedures for robotics cases. Candidates may need to float to areas of equal or lesser acuity, including scrubbing cases or serving in circulating positions if qualified. Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment are essential.
• Skills: Patient positioning, wound dressing application, drainage system securing, surgical suite preparation, critical thinking, operative site visualization, hemostasis techniques, body plane closures, surgical assisting.
• Education: Credentialed BLS provider from the AHA or American Red Cross upon hire; Surgical Assistant credential preferred.
