Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level 1 trauma and neuro experience for a flexible rotating shift assignment requiring a WA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 25-bed Level 1 Trauma Center operating room at a teaching and Magnet-status hospital
• Primary cases include ortho, spine, and neuro with additional service lines; no cardiac or transplant cases
• Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts with variable start times; weekends required
• No block scheduling available; must be flexible to meet unit needs
• No floating outside the operating room
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient caseload ranges from 60 to 70 cases
• Uses Epic for charting; experience preferred but not required
• Medication system is Pyxis
• Responsibilities include circulating in the operating room for trauma, ortho, spine, and neuro cases
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Travelers must be willing to work both weekends and various shift times as scheduled
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• No requests for time off (RTO) are allowed during orientation; overall RTO is limited to 6 days
• Parking options include onsite and offsite paid lots with shuttle service Monday through Friday
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required; pending licensure not accepted (compact license holders must apply for WA licensure and complete WA requirements)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience including Level 1 trauma and neuro
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required
• Ability to provide proof of required documents for consideration
• Former staff must be separated by at least 18 months before returning
