Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with an active Alaska RN license and at least two years of OR experience for a 13-week day shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in the Operating Room of an acute hospital
• Hospital is a Magnet-designated Level II Trauma Center
• Day shifts are 3x12 hours with varying start times (6:45–19:15 or 9:00–21:30)
• Weekend shifts are required
• Limited on-call shifts are required, covering for call-offs
• Travelers may float to similar units as needed
• All travelers may be required to float between facilities within the state
• Epic is used for charting and prior Epic experience is required
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available on site
• Provide skilled nursing care to surgical patients in the operating room setting
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary surgical team in a fast-paced environment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Requested time off must be submitted with application and is approved on an individual basis
• Minimal to no time off is preferred

Requirements

• Active Alaska RN license required and must be in hand by offer
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and CNOR certifications are preferred
• No local candidates accepted (permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility)
• Former permanent staff must have at least a 3-month gap before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
