Job summary

Healthforce is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join a travel assignment in Carmichael, California, United States. This position is in a skilled nursing facility, begins 11/16/2026 for a 13-week contract, and offers a 5x8 shift from 08:00 to 16:30 with guaranteed 36 hours per week.

You will evaluate residents, develop treatment plans, address fine motor skills and balance, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, ensure safety and infection control, and document outcomes.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a skilled nursing facility setting.
• Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team.
• Availability to commit to a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed hours.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced rehabilitation environment and to a variable patient caseload.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents’ occupational therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans to improve functional abilities and independence with activities of daily living.
• Provide evidence-based OT interventions to address upper-extremity function, fine motor skills, balance, and coordination.
• Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document outcomes in the resident’s chart.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, therapy, social work, and rehabilitation aides) to support discharge planning and care goals.
• Ensure safety, infection control, and adherence to facility policies and regulatory requirements during therapy sessions.
• Educate residents and families on activities and strategies to maintain progress and prevent decline.
