Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) - Merced, CAJoin a 13-week travel Occupational Therapist (OT) assignment in Merced, CA, with 8-hour day shifts in a skilled nursing facility (SNF). Merced offers a variety of attractions, including the Merced National Wildlife Refuge, the Merced County Courthouse Museum, and Lake Yosemite. The city is also known as the gateway to Yosemite National Park, making it a convenient base for exploring the famous park and the surrounding natural beauty.As an OT, you will assess patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to determine areas for improvement. You will develop individualized treatment plans and implement therapeutic activities to enhance patients' daily living skills, focusing on activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and self-feeding. You will also provide education to patients and their families on coping strategies and assistive devices. In skilled nursing facilities, OTs emphasize retraining for activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental ADLs, including home management, money management, medication management, and community re-entry tasks. You may also incorporate preparatory activities to help patients regain independence and improve functional mobility.
