Job summary

Mental Health Association of Rochester is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services in an acute care setting. The OT will evaluate patients, develop and implement treatment plans, and educate patients and families on care and equipment.

Qualifications

Current BLS certification and NBCOT-OTR certification with state licensure.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients by reviewing medical history, observing tasks, and assessing needs.
Develop individualized treatment plans with specific goals and activities.
Assist patients with disabilities in performing daily tasks and improving functional skills.
Evaluate and recommend modifications to patients' home or workplace environments.
Educate patients, families, and employers on care, accommodations, and equipment use.
Document activities, progress, and assessments in compliance with guidelines.
