TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for Kalispell, MT. This travel assignment is 13 weeks long, with 40 hours per week, dayshift. The OT will evaluate patients, create treatment plans, and work in acute care settings with diverse disabilities.

Immediate travel opening with requirement of BLS and NBCOT-OTR, plus state licensing. New grads welcome. Responsibilities include reviewing medical history, developing goals, educating families and employers, and documenting progress

Qualifications

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a travel job in Kalispell, Montana.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Kalispell, MT. OT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

As an OT, you will be responsible for the evaluation and development of a plan of care for a variety of patients needing to improve, regain and develop skills needed for daily life. You will work in disabled, ill or injured patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

As an OT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals.
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements.
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment.
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.

Occupational Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. OTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
