National Staffing Solutions-Therapy seeks a travel Occupational Therapist to join our team in Bakersfield, CA. The assignment is 13 weeks, 40 hours per week, with an 8-hour shift schedule and an ASAP start date.

The OT will provide inpatient/acute care services, evaluate and treat clients, train families, and use neuromuscular re-education and adaptive equipment as needed. Travel with competitive pay and benefits options offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
• Occupational Therapy license / Licensure in the state of practice.
• One or more years of inpatient/acute care experience.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsabilités

• Provide training in self-care activities with adaptive or durable medical equipment and/or compensatory techniques.
• Use neuromuscular re-education, trunk stabilization, and balance activities to aid self-care and home management.
• Evaluate need for splints and positioning devices to protect skin and joints.
• Train families and caregivers to assist with ROM exercises, safe transfers, and mobility.

Daily Range of Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:

• Provide training in self-care activities (e.g., bathing, dressing) with adaptive or durable medical equipment and/or compensatory techniques if needed
• Use neuromuscular re-education, trunk stabilization, and balance activities to improve clients’ ability to move in and out of bed and maintain an upright posture necessary to perform self-care and, eventually, home management activities
• Evaluate the need for splints and positioning devices to preserve joint integrity and protect skin from breakdown due to prolonged pressure
• Train families and caregivers to assist with range-of-motion exercises, safe transfers and mobility, and skin checks

Job Qualifications for the Occupational Therapist:

• Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
• Occupational Therapy license / Licensure in the state of practice.
• One or more years of inpatient/acute care experience.
• Current BLS certification.
