Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a travel assignment in Salinas, California. This position requires an OT with at least 6 months of experience, BLS and NBCOT-OTR certification, and active state licensing.

The role involves evaluating patients, creating treatment plans, and educating families and employers about care needs. The position is a 13-week travel assignment in Salinas, CA, with a 40-hour week, 8-hour days.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.
• OTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods and have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Salinas, CA. OT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As an OT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals.
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements.
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment.
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.

Occupational Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. OTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
